Description
This cinderella stamp was issued with seven others as part of a miniature sheet fraudulently attributed to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. While the sheet is titled "Michelangelo" only a few of the artworks on the sheet are his. This stamp reproduces Eugène Delacroix's painting Dante et Virgile aux enfers (known in English as The Barque of Dante or Dante and Virgil in Hell). The stamp is dated 2003, denominated "120 CF" (the abbreviation should be FC for francs congolais), and has "République Démocratique / du Congo" at the bottom.
